Mount Clemens Community Schools
Study Island--- Free Online-Tutoring for all Students K-12
Mount Clemens Community Schools is pleased to offer
all students the opportunity to sign-up for online tutoring and MEAP
preparation (free-of-charge) to help address areas of weakness in any of
the core academic areas (math, English language arts, reading, science and
social studies). The system will first route students through an
assessment and then will provide lessons and practice to help the student
master the identified areas of weakness. Students can use the system for
remediation or enrichment and can work at their own pace to move from
below-grade level proficiency to at-grade level or from at-grade level to
above-grade level.
The curriculum that is used is aligned to the
Michigan Standards and Benchmarks as well as the more specific grade-level
content expectations that the state developed. Teachers are able to log
onto this web-based system (www.studyisland.com)
to check to see how much time students are spending on the system, what
time they are accessing the system as well as benchmarks they have
mastered or not yet achieved.
In order to use the system, students only need access
to the internet and a district-issued login and password which then
permits access to tutoring and engaging educational games 24-hours a day
(through September 2006 as long as they are enrolled in any of the Mount
Clemens Community Schools). Once school begins, you should receive
information with a login/password and basic instructions to get started on
this system. If you do not receive this information during the first few
weeks of school, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office.

registration form--(Note: Student login/passwords will be sent home
sometime during the first month of school—only use this registration form
if you want to have your child begin using the system now.)
