Dear MCHS Families,

I am pleased to be assigned to the position of Accountability Officer at Mount Clemens High School for the 2011/2012 school year. I understand that the students and staff at MCHS are extremely hard working and motivated to achieve. I’m looking forward to working with you to assist our students in being successful both academically and socially.

This year, one goal is to increase student daily attendance. Our students will be able to master the material that is taught when they attend school daily. Parents can help their teenagers be successful by making sure they are at school every day, and staying in close contact with their students’ teachers. Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for October 6, 2011, only one month into the school year.  Schedule yourself to attend these conferences where you can meet your students’ teachers and learn about students’ strengths and challenges.

Our second goal is to implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) throughout our building this school year. A team of teachers, students and administrators will be trained this year to develop a program specifically for MCHS, which will increase success both academically and socially for our students. PBIS raises achievement as well as, respect and promotes a culture of caring throughout the building. Check out: www.pbis.org for more information. I am looking forward to meeting and reacquainting myself with all the students and parents from MCHS. Let’s have a wonderful year together.
