Dress Code Policy 2011/2012 Mount Clemens High School Dress Code guidelines are intended to promote discipline, maintain order, secure the safety of students and provide a healthy environment conducive to academic purposes. - Articles of clothing or items such as pins or buttons that contain inappropriate words, statements or pictures are not allowed. For example: any clothing endorsing drugs, alcohol/tobacco products are strictly prohibited).
- Clothing that by design reveals undergarments or underwear is NOT acceptable. This includes spaghetti straps, tank tops, halter and/or tube tops and saggy pants. Bare midriffs and see-through attire may NOT be worn. Pajamas are NOT permissible.
- Clothing worn to reveal any cleavage will be deemed inappropriate for school dress.
- Shoes must be worn at all times. We recommend tennis shoes to support mobility and prevent slipping on stairs or wet surfaces.
- Dresses, skirts and shorts MUST be at least fingertip length and/or NOT more than four inches above the knee.
- Coats and gloves are not to be worn in the classroom and should be hung up in the student’s locker. Sweaters, sweatshirts and “hoodies” may be worn in the classroom; however, the hood must NOT be up.
- Hats, caps bandannas and/or any other covering of the head may NOT be worn and/or carried on the student during school hours.
- For the safety of all students and staff, wallet chains and pointed spikes are NOT permitted on campus.
