Home of the Battling Bathers!

Welcome back to an exciting new year at Mount Clemens High School. We look forward to working with you to ensure a successful year.

Seniors:If you completed any college/university applications for admission over the summer, please let Mrs. Allen in the counseling office (E105?) know where you have applied. Official transcripts will be sent upon student notification.  If you did not start over the summer, now is the time to visit colleges and begin the application process. The goal is to have all college applications in before Thanksgiving. Those students who qualify for free or reduced lunch are eligible to receive up to three fee waivers for admission. Forms are available in the counseling office.

2011 PSAT: The PSAT/NMSQT is the best preparation for the SAT Reasoning Test. Students who will be in 11th grade during the 2011/2012 school year who take the test and meet other program entry requirements may enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation programs. All students who take the PSAT will receive an official score report in critical reading, math, and writing skills and will see how their scores compare to those of other students across the country.

For more information, please visit www.collegeboard.com/quickstart .

Although you must be in the 11th grade to qualify for the National Merit Scholarships, students in 9th and 10th grades may also take the test to get a head start on improving academic skills needed for success in college and beyond. Parents interested in having their student take the test on Saturday, October 15, 2011, please contact Ms. Simmons at 586-461-3419. The cost of the PSAT is $15.00. Students were to sign-up at the end of last school year to test in October. However, there are a limited number of seats available if your student is interested in taking the PSAT. A limited number of fee waivers are available for 11th grade students ONLY who qualify. These will be given on a first come, first served basis.

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test (ASVAB) will be given in November 2011. Students interested in taking this test, please sign up in the counseling office no later than Friday, October 21, 2011. Taking this test does NOT constitute a commitment to the Armed Services. The test is FREE of charge.

Community Service Graduation Requirements: All students are NOW required to complete a certain number of hours to meet graduation requirements. Community Service logs are available in E105, counseling office. The following number of hours is what each
graduating class must earn:

Class of 2012: 30 hours
