Middle School Curriculum

The middle school years are an exciting time for students. It is during this time that students prepare academically for high school. By the end of the eighth grade, students should be ready to be independent learners in high school, ready to learn and research on their own.

As with the elementary school, students in middle school will learn the Michigan State Standards in English Language Arts, mathematics, science and social studies. In the middle school, the Michigan State Standards also begin to address specific literacy standards for each subject - that's right, each subject. That's because literacy is a requirement in all content areas and the Michigan State Standards support this.

The curriculum documents show what students are expected to learn in Grades 6-8.  For more information about select programs or electives, please click on the links.
